Marrakech: Le Comptoir Darna
This was definitely our favourite restaurant in Marrakech. Our hotel recommended the restaurant to us for two reasons: 1) amazing traditional Moroccan food and 2) the belly dancing show. We had some nems with chicken and shrimp to start with and then had some tajine and a burger. I don't know if it was because we were so hungry but we devoured the nems. The tajine was also really good. Since we already tried some at our hotel, we decided to have an Essaouiran styled tajine. I think this was more sweet and sour than the original one. I also really loved the vibe of the restaurant. The Moroccan lanterns hanging on the ceilings were absolutely beautiful and they had musicians sitting on the staircase, playing the lute. Later in the evening, they put on a belly dancing show and it was so fun to see everyone clapping along. At one point a little boy got on the table with one of the dancers!
