Told you there'd be most posts here, didn't I? We're actually in the middle of working on some London guides, dividing it up into areas and writing about sights, galleries, restaurants, cafes and things around that area. Ashley has a huge obsession with scones so we're definitely including top places to have afternoon tea in London and of course Blakes Hotel is included (and also is on the list for places to stay in London). So why do a separate post on Blakes when it'll be featured in an afternoon tea post somewhere? The courtyard doesn't really look like this all the time. I mean, the birdcage and the chairs are always there but the whole summery transformation by Matthew Williamson is not something you see every day. The birdcage in Blakes' courtyard is gorgeous anyway but these hanging dry flowers on the ceilings made it look so cool and dreamy. Matthew Williamson's signature prints and colours definitely gave the whole place a very summery vibe and we just loved it. We're actually writing this in a rush because the Horticultural Oasis finishes on the 14th of July so if you're planning to go, this weekend will be the only time to do so!
Those scones tho... We can safely say that Blakes' scones are one of the best in London and that's coming from Ashley who's pretty much tried ALL the scones.
